Creating/Updating the Equipment Hierarchy

To create the equipment hierarchy in Asset Management:

Navigate to Administration >> Configure >> Hierarchy in the left slider menu and a pop-up window will appear.

Creating a new Group.

  • Click on the already created Business (eg. ABC Mine).
  • Select 'Add Child', in the Group field, enter the required name and (optional) functional location field (eg. Inloading) and press 'Save'.
  • To add multiple Groups, select the relevant Business and repeat the step above.

Creating a new Department.

  • Click on the parent Group.
  • Select 'Add Child', in the Department field, enter the required name and (optional) functional location (eg. conveyors) and press 'Save'.
  • To add multiple Departments, select the relevant Group and repeat the step above.

Creating a new Area.

  • Click on the parent Department.
  • Select 'Add Child', in the Area field, enter the required name and (optional) functional location (eg. CV101), select the relevant Area Type and press 'Save'.
  • To add multiple Areas, select the relevant Department and repeat the step above.

Updating an existing Group, Department or Area.

  • Click on the relevant level in the navigation tree, update the necessary fields and press 'Save'.
