The latest feature previews have now been delivered to the iPDS mobile apps. Both of these features were developed after support requests from a couple of our Underground Coal customers in NSW and have proven to be invaluable in improving the management of large numbers of conveyor belt sections on conveyors in underground mining operations.
Previously, the ordering of assets in PDS of the same equipment type had to be completed in our web application. This restriction in functionality meant the accurate management of conveyor belt installations at the coal face in iPDS was near impossible.
Now users are able to re-order assets directly in the iPDS application which means accurate conveyor belt maps and conveyor inspections can be produced at pit bottom without delay or error.
In April 2018, PDS dramatically improved the design of its conveyor belt map.
The original idea for the visual belt map was developed over 20 years ago when I first started carrying out conveyor inspections, that design became influential in the development of similar belt maps by a number of conveyor service companies since then.
We have now provided users with the ability to turn on and off our belt map scaling within the iPDS app. This enables users to adjust the belt map design to suit their reporting needs and style.
Both of these features are part of our ongoing commitment to our customers and continued development of our solution. If you have other suggestions you would like to see considered in future releases of PDS, please do not hesitate to let us know via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
